Behind the name stands composer and jazz trumpeter Peer Baierlein, bringing together individual musical personalities in changing constellations.

Based on mutual artistic understanding, but also shaped by playful provocations, stimulating contrasts and spontaneous interaction, the four musicians engage in a lively exchange of creative ideas. Rather than relying on standardized roles and accompaniment patterns, the music remains constantly in motion – open to surprises, shifts of perspective and new directions.

The band works with three established line-ups, based in Southern Germany, Hamburg and Belgium. This allows the quartet to maintain a strong musical identity while drawing on different musicians, backgrounds and local scenes. Depending on the location, the respective line-up forms the core of the ensemble.

The music reflects an open approach to jazz: rooted in tradition without being bound by it, focused on original compositions and always willing to venture into unfamiliar territory.
